Merkley to visit
Ontario
Oregon’s newest U.S. Senator, Democrat Jeff Merkley, will hold a town hall meeting in Ontario at 5:30 p.m. Friday, in Room 10 of the Weese Building at Treasure Valley Community College.
Merkley is making a swing through Central and Eastern Oregon this week holding a total of 11 meetings, starting in Bend and ending in Lakeview, and will complete his schedule to visit all 36 counties this year. Merkley was elected in November to the Senate seat held by Gordon Smith.
Poker run set

V-Twin Club, Payette, is sponsoring a “Run for the Rose” — a poker run — Saturday to raise funds for Rose Advocates, which provides assistance for those suffering from domestic violence.
Registration is will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at V-Twin, 26 Main Street.

Public welcome to annual fruit field
