CALDWELL (AP) — Police say a pair of southwest Idaho gang suspects who eluded capture earlier this summer were arrested after showing up at the courthouse on unrelated charges.
Caldwell police say they arrested 19-year-old Maxamillion Chavez Zavala and 21-year-old Rocky Chavez Hernandez when they appeared in court this week on misdemeanor charges.
Sgt. Joey Hoadley says both men have been identified by investigators as gang members and were sought in June as part of a wide scale gang crackdown. The operation resulted in 27 felony arrests.
Hoadley says the men, accused of a series of felonies, had briefly left the state, but officers recognized their names on Canyon County Court dockets. The men were arrested in the courthouse lobby and are being held in the Canyon County Jail.
