Edith Grover
June 13, 1914-July 30, 2009



New Plymouth

Edith Grover, age 95, of New Plymouth, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 30, 2009, at home with family at her side. A viewing will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Funeral services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.

Edith was born June 13, 1914, in Dewey County, Oklahoma, the youngest child of five to Joshua and Minnie Coles.

Edith married Floyd Grover in Vici, Okla., in 1931. They moved to Idaho in 1937, settling in New Plymouth. In addition to raising eight children, she enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidering and playing cards and yahtzee. She attended many ball games and parties for her grandchildren. Edith owned and operated a café in New Plymouth for several years. She cooked at other cafes until her retirement.

Survivors include Ruth (Ken) Harris, of Parma, Julia (Larry) Schroder, of Ontario, Floy Dion, Barbara (Earl) Spencer, George (Yvonne) Grover, Carol (Dale) Williamson, Mary Gray (Jess Otazua) and Karen (Larry) Mackey, all of New Plymouth; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren.

Edith’s husband, baby daughter and three grandsons preceded her in death.

Mom and Grandma, we will love you and miss you forever.
