ONTARIO — The Ontario Police Department is still looking for information regarding an armed robbery that occurred at a local consignment shop Friday morning in Ontario.
OPD Capt. Mark Alexander said no suspects have been developed, although police are still working with the victim.
“Anybody who may have seen anything should call OPD,” he said.
The robbery occurred at about 11:20 Friday morning at Fourth Avenue Consignments, 484 S.W. Fourth Ave., when a individual police described as an young Hispanic male entered the business and demanded money from an employee. The female employee, who was at the time alone, initially refused. The suspect was able to gain access to the cash register after slashing the woman in the arm with a knife. Police described the man as between 18 and 25 years in age and wearing a black and white jersey and baggy blue jeans. Friday, Alexander indicated police were wondering whether the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle. He said at the time, the store employee reported tires screeching and a honking horn immediately after the man left the store. Anyone with any information should contact OPD at (541) 889-7266.
