Donations made event successful
Editor,
We would like to thank all those who made donations to the Community Baby Shower. Your generous contributions of baby items and funds make it possible for many babies and their families to have a better start this year and provide something that money can’t buy — hope for the future.
We would also like to thank members of the Early Childhood Team and Malheur Community Services for rallying around this cause.
A special thank you goes to Delaney Kee for her hard work and dedication promoting this annual event. She helped raise funds, purchased needed items and contributed her own money, time and talents to make the Community Baby Shower a resounding success!
Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support.

Questioning America’s future
Editor,
One of the reasons I am writing is because I saw a car the other day with a swastika painted on it. I was abhorred. What did our service men fight for?
Another reason I’m writing is: what about not getting a cost of living increase in our Social Security? They are starving the elderly and disabled and making us the brunt of their so-called economic bailout!
They talk a good job for the rich and stab us in the back because we don’t count for much anymore. I guess I have said enough to make a lot of people mad, but this is the way I feel. Thank you.

Columnist Carter is ‘crass, rude’
Editor,
You stoop to a very low level when you print the ravings of Craig Carter. He is a crass, rude, blubbering bad writer. He cannot string three words together without calling someone a moron, a jerk or some other derogatory name. He writes like a seventh grader (sorry seventh graders everywhere).
I did not realize that the Argus uses Craig Carter to give balance to their editorial page. He is the Democrat-liberal point of view that balances other conservative writers.
It is brilliant of the Argus to show so clearly the thinking and the character of a Democrat-liberal like Craig Carter. He is exactly what they are!
Now that I know that the Argus makes money on all those really bad, long obituaries, and that you secretly use Craig Carter to point out the genius of conservatism, I feel much better about it all.
