Parma girls win state title; Weiser girls take third

Caldwell—The Parma girls tennis team ran away with the 3A state title last weekend in Caldwell with a final team score of 56 points. Community Schools placed second with 42, and Weiser came in third with 27 points.
Parma’s Kali Roche defended her singles title with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Weiser’s Shae Duran.
In girls doubles action, it was Clark Fork winning it all, while Parma placed third and Weiser took fourth.
In the mixed doubles matches, Parma’s Nielson and Nielson (first names were not reported in final results) defeated Payette’s Hornbeck and Soelberg, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
Fruitland’s mixed doubles team of Farmer and Hutchinson took fourth place losing to Community School’s Eshman and Flanigan, 6-2, 6-4.
In the boys final standings, it was Community School winning it all with 56 points. Parma placed second with 52 points and Gooding finished third with 20.5 points.
Fruitland took fourth place with 13.5 points. The Payette boys finished in sixth place with eight points, and Weiser ended the state tournament with seven points and an eighth-place finish.
In the boys singles action, the title went to Goodings’ Punn Prevetpatara.
In doubles play, Parma’s Jacks and Loya took first by defeating Berman and Jameson of Community School, 6-4, 6-4.
In the consolation match, it was Parma’s Smyser and Velie knocking of Fruitland’s Aslett and Garner, 6-1, 6-1.
