Fredrick Allen Erben
Oct. 22, 1941 - April 28, 2009

Vale

Fredrick Allen Erben, 67, Vale, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2009, at home.

He was born to the late Bill and Lillian Erben, Oct. 22, 1941, in Milwaukee.

Fred is preceded by his brother, Carter Erben and sister, Barbra Erben.

Fred moved to California with his family around 1950 and, in 1959, he joined the Navy.

Fred moved to Vale 20 years ago and has resided there ever since. Although Fred may have been very stubborn, he was a great man with a huge heart. He was always there to help anyone in need. He loved his family very much. Even though he didn’t go to many gatherings, they were always in his heart. He was just a quiet type of person that enjoyed his peace and quiet, but he was always there for you. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. He worked and retired from Amalgamated Sugar Company. He loved his job and fellow employees. But, most of all, Fred was a free spirited man that belonged on the open road with his Harley. He wanted nothing more than to go on a long ride again. And today he is set free to ride forever.

He is survived by his children, Richard Erben, of Boise, Debbie Gentry, of Payette, Bernie Huggins, of Ariz.; grandchildren, Kristin Valenzuela, of Kuna, Joseph Valenzuela, of Boise, Tia Durrett, of Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Corona, of Idaho, Luke Durrett, of Idaho and Elijah Durrett, of Idaho. Along with his brother, Larry Ragan; niece, Jessica Ragan and the entire Ragan family.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p..m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at the American Legion Hall, 300 S. Iowa St., Payette, with a second memorial service to be held at 1 p.m. May 16, 2009, at Larry Ragan’s Ranch 3539 Stage Road, Vale.
