Helen (Penny) was born April 11, 1925, in Vale, the youngest of eight children to George and Dora Pennington. She was raised on farms in the Vale and Ontario area. She married Herb Rogers on Oct. 6, 1946, in Apple Valley, Idaho, and lived on a small farm south of Payette for over 40 years, where they raised three sons.

Mom worked shortly after their marriage as a telephone operator in Ontario, of which she was very proud. Later, after the kids got a little older, she worked at various grocery stores in the area. After retirement, they liked to spend time camping, fishing and bowling on the senior leagues. She also enjoyed painting ceramics to give as gifts for her friends and family, as well as having a collection for herself.

Helen is survived by her three sons, Tom Rogers (Carole), of Lewiston, Idaho, Steve Rogers (Karen), of Salem and Roy Rogers (Terri), of Fruitland; five grandsons; one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; and a lot of others who loved her.

Her husband of more than 50 years, her parents, and seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
