| Jeanie Hershey has opened a new counseling service, Jeanie’s Helping Heart, in Payette. |
Payette — Jeanie’s Helping Heart has come to Payette to offer just that to area residents.
This new service to the community is situated at 695 Second Ave. S., at the north entrance to the Chamber of Commerce building.
Longtime Payette resident Jeanie Hershey decided to open the counseling service because of a lack of other options in the area. Hershey has had a life filled with helping people, first as a nurse, then as pastor of a church and now as a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed clinical professional counselor.
“The reward for helping people make changes is the smiles I see on their faces,” Hershey said. “I really treasure helping families find change when they are struggling.”
Hershey recently worked in Ontario in the counseling field before opening the Payette office. Hershey has a passion for families and making a positive difference in individuals, homes and communities, she said.
Jeanie’s Helping Heart is available to individuals or for family sessions and also offers workshops and presentations. Hershey uses skills along with life coaching to help individuals unlock their success and achieve goals, and that describes the motto of her company: “The key to unlocking your success.”
Hershey has been in the counseling business since 1997, and she said many people want to make a change in their lives but do not know how to do so. In her 12-plus years of experience, Hershey said she has been able to build up a network of contacts and people to offer to her customers. The new counseling facility is set in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, she said, which offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each client’s individual needs to help attain the personal growth he or she is striving for.
Jeanie’s Helping Heart counseling service can tackle problems with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, sexual and relationship problems, medical and health concerns, grief and loss, work and career issues, stress management, addiction and recovery, parenting, family issues and conflict resolution.
Hershey said therapy is right for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of his or her life by taking responsibility, creating greater self-awareness and working toward change.
She said her goal with her new counseling service is to be able to go into the community with workshops at businesses and schools.
“I believe if companies and businesses would use the tools that I have at my disposal then these companies and businesses would see happier employees,” she said.
