Harper—Kayla Cuvelier scored 16 points, and Catie Kershner added eight points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals to lead Jordan Valley to a 55-40 victory over Harper Tuesday in High Desert League girls basketball action in Harper.

After a slow start, the Mustangs were able to regroup and take advantage of Harper’s ballhandling woes.

As a team, the Mustangs picked up 20 steals, grabbed 32 rebounds and dished off 18 assists on 24 field goals.

Nickie Naegle was the rebound leader with eight, Emma Johnson chipped in 11 points and Anne Marie Eiguren scored 10 points.

We started off slow with our first away game, but picked it up and finished strong,” Jordan Valley head coach Chris Elsner said. “The girls picked the pace up enough that I was able to play our JV (junior varsity) the last part of the game.”

Jordan Valley (6-2 overall, 4-0 HDL) hosts Notus Friday.
