PAYETTE—Tyler Kuder scored a game high 18 points, while teammate Brad Pollock picked up 13, to lead the Payette boys basketball team to a 61-48 nonconference victory over Nampa Christian, Saturday in Payette.
The Pirates (3-0 overall) led 32-26 at the half, and were able to stretch the lead out to 20-points during the second half, before the Trojans battled back in the final stanza, to cut the margin to 13 points.
“Our offense is looking better tonight, but our defense was not sharp,” Payette coach Shawn Scow said. “Everybody scored that played. We are sharing the ball and finding the open guy.”
All nine Pirates who saw time on the court recorded points.
Nampa Christian was led by James McDonald with 17 points, while Justus Van Gundy added 11.
These two teams match up again Tuesday, this time in Nampa.
