POCATELLO —With their season on the line, the Parma football team used their business-like attitude, and a strong defense to collect a 14-7 win over Aberdeen in the 2A Idaho State Semifinal game, Saturday evening in Pocatello.
The Panthers (10-1) used four interceptions, to earn their spot in the championship game, Friday in Boise. Parma will play Declo, a 29-16 winner of Nampa Christian.
“Like I said, it was a business trip,” Parma head coach Greg Asbury said. “The kids kept their focus. Aberdeen is the best team we have faced by far this year. I thought we did a good job of shutting them down.”
Dalton Koplin gathered in a pair of interceptions for the Panthers, while Tyler Ford and Devin Erickson each picked off an Aberdeen pass as well.
Offensively, quarterback Rance Portenier threw a pair of touchdowns, one to Ford, and the other to Randy Riley.
