Julia Melba Montgomery Jensen
July 23, 1927 - Nov. 9, 2008

Julia Melba Jensen, 81, Nyssa, Ore., passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at her home in Nyssa, Ore. She was born July 23, 1927, in Boise, Idaho, the fourth of ten children of Jerald Stevens Montgomery and Melba Angeline Clifford Montgomery. She graduated from Ontario High School and was certified as a Charm School Instructor. On Sept. 12, 1945, she was married and sealed to Darwin Ernest Jensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an instructor for the Nancy Taylor Charm course at Ludwig Commercial College in Ontario, Ore. She placed third in the Mrs. Oregon Homemaker contest held in Portland, Ore. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a teacher in every auxiliary. She also taught early morning Seminary for 10 years and especially enjoyed working with the youth. During the years 2002 through 2003, she and her husband served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Michigan, Lansing Mission, where they touched many hearts. She was the manager of Conrads in Ontario, Oregon, for ten years, but her most accomplished career was that of wife and mother.  She was a best friend and confidante to her children and will be missed more than words can express. She is survived by husband, Darwin Jensen, of Nyssa; sons, Steven Daloy Jensen, of Springlake, Utah, Ronald Allen Jensen, of Middleton, Idaho, Darwin Melvin Jensen, of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Mark Ross Jensen, of Nyssa, Ore.; daughters, Carla Denise Huffaker, of Fruitland, Idaho, Julie Ann Pabst, of Fruitland, Idaho, and Laura Marie Tucker, of Caldwell, Idaho; 42 grandchildren; and 96 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Montgomery and Thomas Montgomery; and grandson, Daniel Jason Huffaker. A viewing will be held at 9:30 am, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Nyssa LDS Chapel, situated at 1309 Park Ave., Nyssa, Ore.
