Car crash injures two near New Plymouth

NEW PLYMOUTH — Two people were injured in a Monday evening crash on U.S. Highway 30 and Southwest Second Avenue in New Plymouth.

The crash occurred around 6 p.m. and injured Jessica Scott, 16 and Jamie Olivera, 45, both of New Plymouth.

According to the Idaho State Police, the crash occurred when Scott, driving a 1989 Toyota Corolla, hit Olivera’s 1990 Toyota 4-Runner in the rear area of the truck. Olivera was stopped, attempting to turn west onto Southwest Second Avenue, according to an ISP press release.

Payette County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted with the crash.

Scott was transported to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell for facial injuries, and Olivera received minor injuries, the press release said.

ISP is still investigating the crash.

" 2nd crash since Saturday. How sad. Wear your dang seatbelt, hang up for freakin' phone, and, especially when it's been raining, pay attention to your driving! I can't even say how many times I saw people being stupid with their driving today with it raining so much! "
