Fed up with the rhetoric

Editor,
I am completely mystified by the political rhetoric that is being headlined by the Obama political camp and a democratically-controlled Congress.
Toss in a few “pinheaded” Republican “bail-outs” seeking re-election — as an after-thought let’s call them what they are, “political Benedict Arnolds,” who will say anything, promise anything, just to get re-elected!
Oh! I forgot! What was the subject that so puzzled, mystified and disgusted me? Oh, now I remember! First let me make one small correction — I applied the term “Benedict Arnold” to just the Republican side of the Congress and, of course, this is totally in error as the Democratic Party has been in control of the Congress for the past two years, but they blame everything that is bad about the economic picture on the president.
I would like to make one thing perfectly clear about party advocates who place party above the welfare of the greatest nation on earth.
The founding fathers of this nation would be astounded at how many of these people, both in and out of congress, are nothing but self-serving traitors to this nation and its people!
Everything that is wrong with this nation is either the current sitting president’s fault, or China’s, Iraq’s, Russia’s, Saudi Arabia’s, Iran’s or Venezuela’s! Just listen to this rhetoric — President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are so in control of the oil industry that they can cause oil prices to go higher or lower! How stupid do Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and a few others think that an American citizen who has a brain can be?
Normally, supply and demand control the price of a food product and because of a Democratically-controlled Congress, the American people are being forced to purchase oil from nations that do not even like us. Then this “pinhead” Obama comes up with the idea of driving less and pumping up tires! Maybe that might be a solution for heavily-populated states, but to westerners, who oftentimes have to commute as much as 100 miles a day, that is about as ridiculous as telling a turtle to fly! Then there are the “elite party socialists” who seem to comprise the vocal minority who are so concerned about the environment — people should be concerned about preserving habitat, but not to the point that belies common sense.
We still have to live in this world, and, personally, I have enjoyed my 88-plus years as a free man in a nation not subservient to any nation, and I would like to see those coming behind have the same privilege.
Fellow citizens, what a wonderful, free nation we have. Let’s not let power-hungry socialists in our Congress take it away from us. Let’s clean house!
