Our Opinion: Walden is easy choice

Greg Walden, the United States House of Representatives candidate for the vast, mostly rural Second Congressional District, has not faced a real challenge to his seat in years.
That trend will most likely continue this year for the Republican, and voters in Malheur County would be wise to give the veteran lawmaker the nod in the Nov. 4 election.
Walden has not faced a real challenge for several reasons, including the fact he has served his constituents well.
For most voters in rural Eastern Oregon, picking Walden in the November election is probably going to be the easiest choice of all.
Walden has consistently served the Second District well and did so within the confines of Republican doctrine.
He has also managed to work across partisan lines when he needed to, thus improving his legislative worth for voters.
Walden should be an easy choice. He is for us.
