Ontario—Ever since the start of camp, Ontario seniors Kayla Uptmor, Kelcie Rupe, Isabel Feibert and Jordan Barnett wanted to get rid of the bad taste in their mouths from the 2007 season.
After Saturday’s win, the four made one giant leap towards the ultimate goal — the state playoffs.
The Tiger netters breezed through Mac-Hi Saturday taking a three-game sweep over their Greater Oregon League counterparts in varsity volleyball action in Ontario.
Ontario fought tough in the opener, surviving a late Pioneer fury with a 25-22 win. The Tigers quickly set the tone in the second game with a 25-17 win and polished off Mac-Hi with a 25-19 win in the finale.
“I was so proud of these girls. As the season has gone on, I have seen that fire in their eyes and Saturday it showed,” Ontario head coach Katie Branch said.
