Nampa—First-place Nampa Christian dominated action Thursday taking a 25-18, 25-15, 25-9 sweep over New Plymouth in Western Idaho Conference volleyball action in Nampa.
Sienna Edmunson led with six kills and 12 digs, while teammates Adia Campbell and Michelle Hull added six assists apiece.
“We just came out really flat tonight. We were definitely not firing on all cylinders,” New Plymouth head coach Paula Leppert said. “Seemed like no one could pull together in a cohesive manner to get us a win tonight.”
New Plymouth (3-10 overall, 1-7 league) hosts Parma Tuesday on senior night.

Kylee Nawahine dropped 16 kills, eight aces and two blocks to lead Fruitland to a 25-14, 25-11, 25-10 win over Homedale in Snake River Valley Conference volleyball action Thursday in Homedale.
Jarica Martarano chipped in eight kills and eight digs, Hailey Felgenhauer added six kills and Sarah McGinley chipped in 17 assists to round out the rest off the Grizzly stat leaders.
“Tonight they did well the entire match. There were no letdowns. They looked good,” Fruitland head coach Lisa O’Neil said. “It is good to have other kids contribute. When we have a well-rounded effort, it will help us later in the season.”
Fruitland (9-1 overall, 7-0 league) travels to Vale Monday and hits the road for SRV play at McCall Thursday.

The Council volleyball team took one step closer to a No. 2 seed in district play with a 25-20, 25-19, 25-22 sweep over Salmon River Thursday in Long Pin Conference volleyball play in Riggins.
Addie Edmunson led the way with nine kills, four blocks, two digs and went 13-of-14 from the service line with two aces.
Robyn Nichols added nine kills, Mary Lakey dished up 16 helpers and Natalie Pinéros tallied three service aces.
“I think any time you can go in and take three straight off an opponent is good for our girls. They came back a few times, and I am pleased with that. The girls came in really motivated to win the game. They knew if we did, we would place second in district which puts us in position to make it to state.”
Council (9-4 overall, 6-4 league) hosts first-place Horseshoe Bend Monday.

The Parma Lady Panther netters spiked their way to a three-game sweep over Western Idaho Confernece foe Marsing Thursday in Parma and improved its WIC record to 5-3.
Parma was led by Kali Roach with 16 kills, six blocks, five digs and three service aces.
Alli Nielsen, of Parma, chipped in with three kills and three aces.
“I am proud of the way the girls played tonight,” Parma head volleyball coach Jeana Critchfield said. “I did not call a single timeout the entire game. They fought through the tough spots and got the job done.”
Also contributing to the sweep for the Panthers was Becca Cox who logged three kills, one blocked shot and two service aces. Breanna Stell dealt out 22 assists to go with her three digs and two aces, and Whitney Asbury tallied 10 digs in the win.
“When these girls play with focus, intensity and excitement, they are a tough team,” Critchfield said. “But if one of those things is missing from their game, it shows on the flooor.”
The Panthers have only two games left to tune things up before the distict tournament begins. Their next game will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday against New Plymouth, then Thursday against Melba. The district tournament begins Oct. 20 at Vallivue High School in Caldwell.
