Hubert Bledsoe, 83, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.
Hubert was born and raised in Duffield, Va., and resided in Ontario, Ore., for many years before returning to the east Tennessee area.
Mr. Bledsoe served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during World War II in the Battle of Bastogne. He retired from Azari Packing Company in Ontario, Ore., after 25-plus years of service, where he had many friends.
His son, Hubert Bledsoe, Jr., brother, Robert Bledsoe, and parents, Beulah and Baxter Bledsoe, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughter, Gina Johnson, of Arizona; sons, Eddie Bledsoe and wife, Helen, Blountville, Tenn., and Randy Bledsoe, of Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Bishop and husband, Ron, Burke, Va.
Calling hours are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
