Bonnie Sue Beckstead was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Willow Springs, Mo., to parents, Vernon and Freda (Nelson) Lowtrip. She died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Deana’s Adult Foster Home in Irrigon, Ore., at the age of 67.

Bonnie was raised in Adrian, Ore., and graduated from high school there. She has lived in the Hermiston/Boardman, Ore., area since 1978. On Nov. 28, 1975, she married Don C. Beckstead in Eugene, Ore. She worked as a hairdresser in Boardman most of that time. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Irrigon. Bonnie was an avid Denver Broncos fan, along with the Seattle Mariners, NASCAR (she loved Dale Jr.) and all sports.

She is survived by children, Kellye and her husband, Dwight Finch, of Boardman, Ore., Brenda Connell and friend Tom Ambrose, of Boardman, Ore., Michael J. Connell and friend Toni Worley, of Boardman, Ore., and Gabriel Hatch, of Emmett, Idaho; siblings, Norma Houston, of Hermiston, Ore., Edward Lowtrip, of Eugene, Ore., Audrie Tracy, of Parma, Idaho, and Carmen Robbins of Hermiston, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Don C. Beckstead, and her parents, Vernon and Freda Lowtrip.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at the Port of Morrow in Boardman. Inurnment of remains will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Boardman.
