Parents search for missing daughter
New Plymouth teenager went missing last week

Sarah Freeman, New Plymouth, holds a flier she and her husband have been placing around town, after their daughter, Bonnie-Louise Freeman, 17, did not return home from school Wednesday.
NEW PLYMOUTH — The last five days have been very difficult for New Plymouth’s Sarah and Brett Freeman since their daughter, Bonnie-Louise Freeman, did not return home after school Wednesday.

The couple have frantically searched for their daughter, a senior at New Plymouth High School, who apparently ran away.

Sarah Freeman said the couple reported their daughter missing to the Payette County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night, when she was listed as a runaway.

Brett Freeman said while Bonnie, 17,  has never run away before, it is possible she did because she has been having problems at home. Although she gets good grades at school, she has not attended since Wednesday, either.

While the Freemans have not heard from their daughter since she has been gone, she was reportedly seen at a New Plymouth High School football game Thursday night.

“I missed her by 15 minutes,” Brett Freeman said, adding nobody has reported seeing her since.

The Freemans said the sheriff’s office resource officer in New Plymouth has tried to track down information on Bonnie’s whereabouts for the past couple of days.

“To dedicate resources to a “runaway” in the modern era, I think, is pretty good,” Brett Freeman said.

The Freemans are hoping Bonnie is still in the area, but worry about her safety if she has left the Treasure Valley.

“Teenage girls who leave by themselves don’t have a good track record of getting where they want to go,” Brett Freeman said.

The worried parents have already placed fliers around New Plymouth, asking people with information to call the sheriff’s office.

They also called the Idaho Statesman with the information, but Sarah Freeman said Idaho Statesman staff were not interested because Bonnie has been listed as a runaway. Brett Freeman said, he and his wife originally thought Bonnie would return by Sunday night, but when she didn’t, they started to take more action.

“I think it would help if she knew she was not in trouble,” he said, adding he and his wife just want Bonnie to come home safe.

For parents who may face similar situations, the Freemans recommend they keep an updated list of their children’s current friends with contact information and current photos of their children so they are not caught unprepared.

Bonnie-Louise Freeman has dark reddish brown hair and blue eyes, according to the flier from her parents. People who see her or have any information are asked to contact the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, (208) 642-6006, ext. 2.

" My thoughts and prayers are with the Brett Freeman family. Hopefully, Bonnie will come home, or someone will see her. I do wish we had a better discription the reddish brown hair and blue eyes. A enlarged picture would have been very helpful. "

" I sincerely hope there is a positive outcome to this situation but if the boneheads at the ARGUS were really sincere in their efforts to help find the girl, they would shout a picture of her. Not a picture of a picture of her. Way to go Argus. My thoughts are with the parents. Hope she's ok. "
