Adrian wins nail biter over Prairie City

Adrian—Trailing 40-28 and five minutes left on the clock, the Adrian Antelope football team did the unthinkable, and scored two unanswered touchdowns for the 42-40 win in High Desert League action Fridayin Adrian.
Adrian quarterback Blake Ishida hit George Ellsworth on a 45-yard bomb, Ellsworth then runs the sidelines.
Just as he his being tackled, he lateraled the pigskin to Ishida, who hustled down the field, and Ishida rumbled another 40 yards for the game tying score.
Kyle Osborn punched in the two-point conversion for the Antelope win.
Adrian improves to 3-0 in the HDL standings, and will travel to Monument/Dayville, Friday.

HALFWAY — Jordan Valley’s Alek Quintero rushed for a touchdown, and threw for five more, to lead the Mustangs to a 50-18 win over Pine Eagle, in High Desert League football action, Friday in Halfway.
Quintero finished with 205 yards passing on 10-for-13 throwing. The quarterback threw touchdowns of 55-, 10-, 14-, 34- and 63-yards each, for a 36-8 lead at the half.
“After our first series, our team controlled every part of the game,” Jordan Valley coach Tim McBride said. “I was really pleased with the physical play on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. It was a good team win.”
Zac Fillmore led the Mustangs with 105 yards receiving on four catches, and three touchdowns.
The Mustangs (5-0 overall, 4-0 HDL) travel to Huntington to take on the Locomotives at 2 p.m. Friday
