David A. Germany

Tillamook

David A. Germany, 59, Tillamook, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital in Tualatin.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Canby Funeral Chapel with burial at Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby

He was born July 16, 1949, in Oregon City to Vance and Loretta Germany. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Oregon City and was active in the FFA during his school years. He started his first herd of registered Holstein cattle and majored in chemical engineering at Oregon State University. He served with the Oregon National Guard and married Linda Kay Bristol Aug. 14, 1971, in Reno. He continued dairy farming and building his herd and in 1981, they moved to Ontario, where they established their own dairy. The last eight years, he had worked for the All West/Select Sires as its Tillamook area sales representative. He was a member of the Oregon and National Holstein Associations.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Dennis Bristol, Oregon City and Jason Germany, Portland; daughter, Amy Ruderman, Tillamook; mother, Oregon City; brothers, Mike, Molalla and Steve, Canby; sisters, Kaye Preciado and Becky Knowles, both of Oregon City; and three grandchildren.
