Anna Mae (Tweedy) Abnot
Nov. 19, 1919 - Sept. 20, 2008



New Plymouth

Anna Mae (Tweedy) Abnot, 88, New Plymouth, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Ontario care center. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to  7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Anna Mae was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Smith Center, Kan., to Claude and Cora Jane Tweedy. Her father passed away shortly after her birth and she moved with her mom, brothers and sisters to Idaho in July 1920. She met her husband, Taylor Abnot, in Pingree, Idaho, and they were married Feb. 17, 1936. Their daughter Eleanor was born in December 1936, their son Neal in April 1938, and daughter, Elizabeth “Betty,” in October 1939. They moved their family to the Oregon Slope in 1949, and settled in New Plymouth in 1952. Their daughter Penny was born July 1960.

Anna Mae worked for numerous years at the Buckingham Beet Dump in Fruitland and later as the cook for Meals on Wheels at the New Plymouth Senior Citizen Center.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Larry Crump, New Plymouth, and daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Tony Mayo, Valley City, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Joan Sohm, Yuma, Ariz; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great granddaughters.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor; son, Neal; daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Sanchez Goode; sisters, Geraldine Tweedy and Ethel Lewis; brothers, Kenneth Tweedy, Graydon Tweedy, Robert Sohm and Earl Sohm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
