Weiser volleyball squad knocks off New Plymouth in four games

Weiser—The Weiser Wolverine volleyball team handed New Plymouth a loss in a four-game battle Monday in Weiser.
Weiser won the opening game 25-21, but the Pilgrims bounced back with a win in the second game, 26-24.
With the match square, Weiser went to work and won the final two games, but not without a battle.
In the third game, Weiser had to fend off a determined New Plymouth squad for the come-from-behind, 27-25 win.
In Game 4, the two squads continued to wage kills and blocks against each other, but, in the end, Weiser was victorious, winning 25-21.
Weiser’s Cori Martin led the Wolverines with 15 kills and five service aces as she scored 23 points on the night.
The win bolstered the Wolverines to a 5-2 overall record, while they are at 1-1 in the Snake River Valley Conference.
Weiser will take on Payette at 5 p.m. Thursday in SRV action. New Plymouth hosts Cole Valley at 5 p.m. today.
Parma 3
Nyssa 0
At Parma, the Panther netters made short work of the Lady Bulldogs with a threegame sweep for the match.
Parma defeated Nyssa 25-8, 25-23 and 25-18.
Kali Roach led the Lady Panthers with 12 kills and 10 digs, while Alli Nielsen added eight kills, 10 digs, two blocks and 11 service aces.
The Lady Bulldogs will hit the court again at 5 p.m. Thursday with a road trip to Grant Union.
Harper 3
Ukiah 0
At Harper, the Hornet volleyball team scored a three-game sweep behind the lead of Jackie Jordan, who logged five kills, tallied 16 points and knocked off six service aces.
The Hornets defeated Ukiah 25-6, 25-14 and 25-8 for their first league win.
Harper freshman Whitnee Chandler chipped in with 15 points scored and seven service aces, and Sveta Price added eight points and two aces.
Harper will play against Crane on Friday. |
