BURNS —Seven different Ontario football players scored a touchdown as the Tigers cruised to a big 61-8 nonleague win over Burns, Friday night in Burns.
Frank Lopez, Nico Martinez, Matt Anthony, Josh Mejia, Jake Turner, Joe Ronneburg and Ray Rodriguez each scored a touchdown, as the Tigers built up a 55-0 lead at the half.
Lopez and Martinez each scored twice for Ontario, and quarterback Tad Anzaldua threw for a pair of touchdown strikes in the win.
“We knew against them we could run the ball, and that was our game plan going in,” Ontario coach Trever Wilson said. “They (Burns) have a tremendous quarterback, one of the best athletes in the state. He didn’t have much time. We tried to put as much pressure on him as we could.”
Burns’ quarterback, Ethan Bentz threw for 240 yards against the Tigers defense, on 17-for-34, and ran in the Hilanders only score in the fourth quarter.
Defensively, the Tigers held Burns to -27 yards rushing, as the Tigers finished with multiple tackles for loss.
The Tigers (3-1 overall) play host to Nyssa, Friday at 7 p.m. in Ontario.
Adrian 56
Monument/Dayville 18
Adrian — Blake Ishisa ran for three touchdowns and threw two others to lead the Adian Antelope football team to an impressive 56-18 win over Monument/Dayville Friday in Adrian.
The Antelopes scored 24 first quarter points and never looked back. Ishida started the scoring barrage for Adrian with a 30 yard scamper to put the Antelope’s up 6-0. J.J. Stephens converted the two-point play for the 8-0 lead.
Monument/Dayville had thoughts of making a ball game of it, and on first possession answered the touchdown with one of its own, but failed on the point after attempt and trailed 8-6.
Adrain added 36 more points to the scoreboard before Monument/Dayville would see the endzone again.
The Antelopes finished the night with 467 total yards of offense, 358 of which came on the ground.
Leading the Antelopes rushing attack was David Stones with 143 yards on 13 carries and Kyle Osborn contributed with 88 yards on nine chances.
In the air, Isaida completed 6-of-15 passes for 109 yards and two scores.
Adrian will host Prairie City at 3 p.m. Friday.

Jordan Valley — Friday in Jordan Valley is was the Alek Quintero show as he threw four touchdown passes, returned a punt for a score, scored twice on the ground and conveted two extra points in the Mustangs 54-34 win over Burnt River.
On defense Bryce Kershner lead the Mustangs with eight solo tackles and five assists in one quarter of play.
Jordan Valley will battle Pine Eagle at 2 p.m. Friday.
