ABWA meeting slated

FRUITLAND — The local chapter of American Business Women’s Association September dinner meeting will take place at 6:15 p.m. today at Nichol’s Steakhouse, Fruitland. Shari Herrera will speak on her program, “How to Get Out of Debt,” a topic everyone should know about.

Members will be planning their annual “STRUT,” scheduled for Sept. 19, with a potluck lunch in Lion’s Park. The event raises funds for scholarships the organization gives to local women annually.

Girls Night Out scheduled

ONTARIO — All ladies are invited to attend a special Girls Night Out event that hosts Brenda Copeland, a gospel singer with eight albums who was named female vocalist of the year, soloist of the year and entertainer of the year at the Gospel Music Awards, at 6 p.m. today at the Sizzler restaurant in Ontario. Girls Night Out is sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries and Treasure Valley Women’s Connection. For more information or reservations, contact Arlene, (208) 452-4130, or Margaret, (541) 889-1095, mpollaard@yahoo.com.
