Harper—McKenzie Purnell dropped 13 kills and Madison Shira added 16 assists to lead Adrian to a three-game sweep over Harper Friday in Harper.
The Antelopes started off strong with a 25-5 win in the opener and kept the run going with a 25-7 score in the second game.
Adrian lowered the boom with a 25-16 score in the decisive third game to put the Hornets away.
Andrea Shenk added five kills and four service aces, and Shira kicked in three kills and an ace.
“For our first full match, it was a nice start,” Adrian head coach Aimee Goss said. “As always at the beginning of the season, there are a lot of things to work on, but we look good at this juncture. Harper had some good serves throughout the match to challenge us on serve receive, so we’ll look to strengthen that in the coming weeks.”
Adrian (1-0 overall) traveled to the Cove Tournament Saturday. |
