Fruitland — The Fruitland Grizzly volleyball team made short work of Baker Tuesday night with a three-game sweep, winning 25-17, 25-13 and 26-24.
Leading Fruitland was Kylee Nawahine with 13 kills and eight digs.
Whitney Mahler added eight kills and served up six aces.
Sarah McGinley chipped in 13 assists, and Jarica Martarano notched eight digs.
“The girls played a solid match and they kept the momentum on our side,” Fruitland head coach Lisa O’Neil said. “I was pleased with their performance at this stage of the season.”
O’Neil said some of her players stepped up and played solidly in the win.
“Nawahine played amazing. She has become so strong,” O’Neil said. “She played all summer, and it showed. Mahler stepped up and played smart volleyball, and she is going to be a force to be reckoned with.”
The Griz will be in action Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 in Twin Falls.
