James Carl Mitchell, McDermitt, Nev., formerly of Payette, passed away at home of natural causes Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
Carl was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Bentonville, Ark., to Robert and Bertha Mitchell. He was the eighth child of 11 children. He married Phyllis Louise Ostberg-Stewart on June 9, 1962. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, five brothers, three sisters and three grandsons. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Louise Mitchell, McDermitt, Nev.; children, Earleen and Barney Franklin, Montana, John and Rose Stewart, Nampa, Ron and Margaret Stewart, Boise, Jack Mitchell, Nampa, Debbie Shaver, Payette, Jim and Debbie Stewart, Payette, Tamara Hoglan of Payette, Robert and Cheryl Mitchell, McDermitt, Nora Maylin, Emmett, Pam and David Platt, Payette; 38 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Billy, Wilder and Nancy, Fruitland.
A graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery in New Plymouth at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2008. Carl was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, and beloved friend. He is dearly loved and will be severely missed. Services under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor, Garden City.
