Ontario—In loving memory of Rudy Mata born in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Aug. 20, 1983, the youngest of six, father of two, taken from us too soon Aug. 23, 2008. Son of Daniel and Maria Mata from Eagle Pass, Rudy was raised in the Nyssa/Ontario area. Rudy’s presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In Rudy’s words, “Familia First.”
Rudy faced many challenges in his life which he overcame to provide a good life for his sons, Ezekiel Rudy and Cruzito Leonardo, and the mother of his two children, Mary Esther. His nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles will miss his playful, big heart and love for life. His mother will always remember his captivating, mischievous smile. Rudy loved family gatherings, music and Cadillacs. Rudy had a special bond with each of his brothers, Danny and Fabian, and sisters, Maria Elena “Pinky,” Priscilla. His presence alongside his brother, Gonzalo, will be especially missed.

A viewing and a Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at the Blessed Sacrament Church at 829 S.W. Second Ave., Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the Blessed Sacrament Church. The burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery in Nyssa. A reception will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Church hall after the burial. The family would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that financial donations be made to The Rudy Mata Fund at any Bank of America.
