Mitchell named to preseason All-RMAC squad

GOLDEN, Colo. —Colorado School of Mines’ Kayla Mitchell has been named to the 2008 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason All-RMAC Team, as announced today by the RMAC.
A junior forward from Ontario, Mitchell was tabbed first team all-RMAC and academic all-RMAC last season.
As a sophomore in 2007, Mitchell started all 21 matches and led the Orediggers in goals (13), total points (29) and game-winning goals (seven).
Her 13 goals tied her for fifth most in the RMAC while her seven game winners ranked her third.
The Orediggers, who were picked to finish in a tie for third with Colorado State-Pueblo in the 2008 RMAC preseason poll, earned a third-place finish in the RMAC in 2007 with a record of 12-8-1 overall and 8-3-1 in conference play.
Mines will begin its regular season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28, hosting Upper Iowa at Long Lake Ranch Park.
