Susan C. Calvert, 57, of New Plymouth, passed away at home Friday, July 11, 2008, surrounded by her family.
Susan was born on Aug. 4, 1950, in Weiser, to Joseph and Grace Hauntz Hemenway. She attended school in Payette. During high school, she worked at Starks Nursery and then for the Payette Police Department as a dispatcher.
She married David Calvert on Aug. 30, 1978, and they moved to St. Maries, Idaho, where she worked in the police department. From there they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, then to Boise where she worked in banking.
In Hailey, Idaho, she worked as a dental assistant and then went to work for Paul’s Bakery, then transferred to Paul’s Bakery in Ontario.
She worked for the bakery department at Albertsons in Ontario for seven years. She then took a year off and traveled with her husband through 38 states. She went to work for the Wal-mart bakery in Ontario in 2000.
Susan is survived by her husband, David; children, Gregory (Jeanne) Calvert and Melissa (Rudy) Castillo; four grandchildren; many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Fruitland.
