MAUPIN (AP) — An earthquake measuring 4.2 shook some buildings in Central Oregon.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 11:46 a.m. Monday, and the epicenter was about 7 miles southeast of Maupin.
According to the agency, the quake’s depth was about 13 miles.
A quake of magnitude 2.0 shook the same area at 11:55 a.m. and a smaller one, of 1.3 magnitude, about three minutes later.
The Wasco County sheriff’s office said it received no reports of damage or injuries.
KTVZ, a Bend television station, reported that many residents of the Prineville area — about 40 miles to the south, said they felt their homes or buildings shake.
‘‘I was in my house, and my whole house shook,’’ said north Prineville resident Nicole Van Alstine told KTVZ.com.
A swarm of quakes has rumbled through the same area over the past 18 months.
A state geologist said the quake was felt as far north as The Dalles and as far south as Bend.
