Velle Ruth Linegar, Ontario, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Holy Rosary hospital. Velle was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Gervais, Ore., to Frank and Ruth Felton. She married Otto W. Heider Jr. in June 1948. They divorced in 1954. She married Carl E. Linegar in Corvallis, Ore., on April 7, 1957. They lived in Corvallis until 1960, then moved to Nyssa and then later moved to Ontario.
Velle so enjoyed her family! If you had the opportunity to talk to her, it did not take her long to get the conversation around to telling you about one or more of her six children. If you had much time with her, you probably got to hear about all of them. Bragging about her children and grandchildren was her favorite pastime.
Velle also enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing bridge, walking with her dog, Java Rose, the Owyhee Garden Club and operating the family rental business.
Velle is survived by her children, Otto (Maggie) Heider, Silverton, Ore., George (Donna) Heider, Camas, Wash., Marty (Ken) St. Clair, Rougemont, N.C., Les (Merie) Linegar, Ontario, Toqua (Greg) Brasel, Winnemucca, Nev., and Neal (Pam) Linegar, Portland, Ore. She is also survived by several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Velle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl E. Linegar; and a brother, Duane Felton.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario.
