HILLSBORO (AP) — Washington County deputies say the parents of four boys have been arrested after authorities found rotting food and trash piled high throughout the apartment.
Deputies found the children, ages 5 to 12, living in extremely unsanitary living conditions.
Deputies went Tuesday night to the home after getting a tip that there might be some problems there. They say they were immediately overwhelmed with the filthy conditions — including thousands of flies.
Arrested were 34-year-old Rebecca Nelson and 40-year-old Russell Newman.
The Department of Human Services took the boys into protective custody.
