Nampa Christian sweeps 2A District III meet

New Plymouth - Friday’s 2A District III track meet was all Nampa Christian.
The Trojans ran away, winning both the girls meet and the boys meet.
In the girls competition, the Lady Trojans tallied 70 points for the win. Parma (30) finished second and New Plymouth (24) chalked up third.
Melba (23) placed fourth, with Marsing (4) and Cole Valley Christian (3) rounding out the WIC schools.
The Trojan boys scored 55 points for the top honors, New Plymouth placed second with 31 points and Marsing (25) placed third.
Melba (25), Parma (15) and Cole Valley (4) rounded out the field.
New Plymouth had two athletes garner gold in the district meet.
For the girls, Nani Pearce was the only gold winner, winning the 400- meter dash with a time of 1:01.93.
Jaimie Brown took top honors in the triple jump with a distance of 42-feet, 1/4-inch.
The defending champion, Nampa Christian girls are poised to repeat, while the Lady Pilgrims hope to improve from 14th place.
The Pilgrim boys placed 13th a year ago, and will be looking to move up the charts in 2008.
The Idaho 2A state track meet begins Thursday at Bronco Stadium on the campus of Boise State University.
