Vale — A Nyssa woman has been charged with second-degree kidnapping after Malheur County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a missing 11-month-old Adrian baby Monday.
Roni Monique Trammelle, 41, was arrested and transported to the Malheur County Jail just after 5 p.m.
“She had the baby,” Malheur County Sheriff’s Office Det. Rob Hunsucker said. “She had no legitimate reason to be in possession of the baby.”
Hunsucker said Trammelle lived a short distance from the family of the baby and had only met them a few days prior to the incident.
The baby’s mother went to Nyssa and left the child in the custody of the child’s older brother.
“The woman asked if she could take the baby,” Hunsucker said. “He said no. Long story short, she took the baby and took off.”
Trammelle was discovered with the baby near where the alleged kidnapping had taken place.
In other Malheur County Sheriff’s Office news, deputies issued a citation for Rusty Girbin, 26, Vale, who was discovered to have a warrant in Baker County Justice Court.
She was issued a citation and released. Deputies also responded to a fight at the A Street Tavern, situated at 170 A St. W., in Vale at 2:37 a.m. Monday. The deputies issued disorderly conduct citations to Leonard Plumb, 51, Vale and Daniel Fritz, 52, Vale.
The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office also responded to a traffic stop after police said an Ontario man was not maintaining a lane.
Charles Widdifield, 34, was then arrested for driving while suspended.
Widdifield is still currently in Malheur County Jail. The Ontario Police Department arrested an Ontario woman on a felony warrant at her home on the 600 block of Southeast First Street at noon Monday.
Michelle Kreiter, 32, had a warrant for a probation violation stemming from a dangerous drugs charge and was taken to Malheur County Jail.
