Kenny was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Julesburg, Colo., to George and Pearl Rogers. He was the youngest of seven children. Kenny grew up on a farm in Colorado, and, following in his father’s footsteps, he became a farmer and then a rancher in Colorado and Nebraska.
Kenny met and fell in love with a short, feisty rancher’s daughter, Frances Fiesterman. They were married Oct. 5, 1938. To this union two daughters were born, Delores and Sharon. Kenny and Frances raised their daughters on a farm outside of Oshkosh, Neb. After his girls were gone, Kenny and Frances moved to a cattle ranch in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. They moved to New Plymouth, Idaho, in 1972, to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren.
Kenny was an integral part of starting the New Plymouth Senior Center and could often be found serving in the kitchen. One of his greatest joys was dancing. He could be found at any of the local senior centers doing his best to wear out the dance floor.
Kenny is survived by his two daughters, Delores Roy, Ontario, Ore., and Sharon (Joe) Snow, Fruitland, Idaho; his six grandchildren, Brian (Debbie) Briggs, Kevin (Cindy) Briggs, Troy (Jan) Briggs, Spokane, Wash., Amanda (Dan) Reed, Fruitland, Idaho, Ivan (Lela) Snow, Meridian, Idaho, Joe Snow Jr., Middletown, Conn.; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; his sisters, Ruby Porter and Rose Hothan, Julesburg, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews; his very special friend, Betty Byram, Meridian, Idaho, and her family, who also loved Kenny; along with many, many lifelong friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances; his parents, George and Pearl; brothers, Amos and Earl; sisters, Mae and Esther; and grandson Brett.
Kenny was a blessing to all that knew him, and he will be forever remembered.
Memorials may be made to the New Plymouth Senior Center, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
