Amtrak to resume Coast Starlight train
PORTLAND (AP) — Passenger service on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight train between Seattle and Los Angeles will resume next week after being shut down completely by a landslide near Oakridge on January 19th. However passengers still will have to take a bus shuttle between Klamath Falls and Eugene in both directions as track repairs continue. Service on the route, which carries about 15-hundred passengers a day in winter, stopped completely. The first northbound train will leave Los Angeles on Tuesday and the southbound will resume service on Wednesday. There is no estimate as to when all track repairs will be completed.
