Payette — The Friends of the Payette Public Library recently hosted an ice cream party for children who participated in the spring break reading program during the month of March. For every five books a child read, a scoop of paper ice cream was added to the giant paper ice cream cone affixed to the wall. At the party, the young readers ate their reward — real ice cream sundaes. The library will host a similar summer reading program beginning in June.
