Senate panel kills
local-option bill
BOISE (AP) — A Senate panel’s rejection of a bill necessary to allow local option sales taxes means the issue is likely dead this year. The Senate Local Government and Taxation committee voted 4-3 Monday to kill a bill that would have set up rules for local option taxing districts.
With that dead, supporters of a separate constitutional amendment allowing local option taxes are peeling away, including chambers of commerce from across Idaho.
