A visitation for friends and family will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Condolences may be made to the family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.

Irene was born on Dec. 15, 1939, in Mutterstadt, Germany, to Adam and Anna Neuhäuser.

Irene was the most loving wife, my best friend and the proudest mother and grandmother of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that the Lord could have ever blessed this family with. After 27 years of marriage, I cannot recall Irene ever asking me for anything in life, yet she made sure I was able to have every toy that I thought would make me happy.

Irene enjoyed the simple things in life, long drives, changes in the seasons; she was mesmerized by sitting along a river or creek for hours, just enjoying the beauty of nature. The home she provided would warm your heart the minute you entered the door, filled with a sense of love! Irene made my home my “heaven on earth.” She will always be remembered and deeply loved by the family that she lived for.

Irene is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Wood, Payette; daughters, Fayann Beeman, Little Rock, Ark., Rayann McDonald, Fall City, Ore., Debbie Hallett, Payette, and Kathy Shaver, Loon Lake, Wash.; sons, Charlie Peterson, Fall City, Ore., and Scott Hallett, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
