Elva N. Bale
Sept. 13, 1931 - Jan. 26, 2008



Fruitland — Elva N. Bale, 76, Fruitland, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at home. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario, with Bishop Arlen Benjamin conducting. Private burial will follow at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, Nyssa.

Elva was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Shelley, Idaho, to James and Annie Montague. Elva was the ninth child in a family of 13 brothers and sisters.

Elva married Charles Richard Bale Sr. on Nov. 7, 1948. Charles and Elva had four children, Darlene, Carolyn, Charles Jr. and Nancy.

Elva loved family reunions and spending time with family. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events like wrestling, basketball, softball, volleyball and soccer. One of Elva’s greatest joys was camping, fishing and just being in the great outdoors. More times than not, she would out-fish Chuck and George. She liked fishing on the ocean and on the Columbia River for salmon and sturgeon with her brothers. She also enjoyed fishing in Alaska with her son, Charlie, and his wife, Valerie.

Elva is survived by her daughter, Darlene Clement, New Plymouth, Idaho; son, Charlie Bale Jr., Eagle River, Alaska; daughter, Nancy Heck, Terrebonne, Ore.; granddaughter, Betsy Clark, New Plymouth, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Riley and Sierra Clark, New Plymouth, Idaho; granddaughter, Heidi Clement, and grandson, Eric Clement, New Plymouth Idaho; granddaughter, Abbey Heck, Boise, Idaho; granddaughter, Kena Heck, Eugene, Ore.; and grandson, Charles Bale III, Arkansas.
