ASTORIA (AP) — Pacific Power crews worked through the night in many parts of the state, restoring power to homes and businesses wherever possible.
In total, Pacific Power’s customer outage total fluctuated around 37,000 in Washington, Northern California and Oregon.
But 90 to 120 mile per hour winds forced crews to be pulled back from trouble areas in hard-hit Clatsop County. That’s where nearly 23,000 customers were without power throughout the night.
Coastal Lincoln City also experienced significant additional outages in the early morning hours. A Bonneville Power Administration transmission line failed, bringing customer outages to nearly 12,000.
Lincoln City also has been experiencing loss of telephone service.
