OREGON - Rock band Poison shows nude video segment at Douglas County Fair
ROSEBURG (AP) — The 80s rock band Poison has been asked to issue an apology for a video shown during a recent performance at the Douglas County Fair that included a shot of a topless woman.
Poison is a regular performer at such events, but the entertainment company that booked them said this is the first time they’ve received a complaint. The concern surrounded a pre-recorded video projected on a screen behind the band that contained snippets showing a semi-naked women.
Alcohol-tied Ore. traffic deaths trend down
despite recent spike
PORTLAND (AP) — Oregon and the nation are seeing a slow but marked decline in alcohol-related traffic deaths over the past quarter century, despite a spike in alcohol-related traffic crashes in Oregon in 2006.
The Oregonian reports that there were 196 alcohol-related traffic deaths in the state in 2006, a 10 percent increase from 2005, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Naked man arrested in Dallas court building after allegedly trying to nab weapon
DALLAS (AP) — A man stripped naked inside a Dallas County courthouse and tried to grab a weapon from an officer who attempted to subdue him, officials said.
A receptionist saw the 33-year-old man taking off his clothes on the 11th floor of the court building near the district attorney’s office on Thursday, authorities reported.
She called for help, and a prosecutor chased the man into a stairwell.
An officer was trying to help the prosecutor when the man placed his hand on the officer’s weapon, officials said.
The man faces a charge of trying to take a weapon from a peace officer.
