Sadie S. Vaughn, 98, formerly of Boise, passed away May 9, 2007, in a Payette care center. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at Riverside Cemetery in Payette, under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1908, in Guadalupe, N.M. She lived most of her life in New Mexico and Texas, where she managed Howard Variety Stores and worked at Consolidated Aircraft during World War II. She moved to Ogden, Utah, in 1956 and married Wilson H. Vaughn in Evanston, Wyo., July 24, 1956. In 1962, they moved to Boise and she worked as a volunteer with St. Luke’s Aux. She enjoyed all sports at BSU, homemaking and her pretty flowers.
She is survived by her only child, Dorothy Carmen, Big Sandy, Texas; sisters-in-law, Lois (Don) Foster and Luella B. Cole; and her nieces and nephews, Larry (MaryAnn) Vaughn, Sue (Robert) Bixby, Jim Vaughn, Harold Vaughn, Kathryn (Jeff) Fraser and Phillip (Kathy) Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Iona Burke; three sisters; and her dearly beloved husband, Wilson H. Vaughn.
