Ontario Youth Baseball to hold signups

Ontario Youth Baseball is still accepting registrations for children ages 5 to 12. Forms can be picked up at the Ontario Recreation Department /Aquatic Center and Ontario City Hall. Children ages 9 to 12 must attend a mandatory evaluation at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Ontario Youth Baseball Fields (Beck-Kiwanis Park). For more information, call (208) 740-0523
Harmon Killebrew Day slated for weekend

Harmon Killebrew Day in Payette will take place this weekend. Events kick off Friday with a golf tournament at 11 a.m.at Payette’s Scotch Pines Golf Course. A prime rib dinner follows that evening at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. Saturday will be the presentation of a pitching machine donated to the Payette High School baseball team. Several donations have been made toward the pitching machine.

Second annual OHS Football/Basketball Golf Tournament

The Ontario High School Booster Club is hosting the second annual OHS Football/Basketball Golf Tournament starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Ontario Golf Club. Hole sponsorships are $500 and green sponsorships are $100.
Entry cost is $200 for a foursome, and includes dinner, range privileges, prizes and green fees.

Public Services Softball Tournament Scheduled
Public Services Softball Tournament, June 29, 30, and possibly July 1, (depending on the number of teams) at Mesa Park, Fruitland, Idaho.
Players eligible are those individuals that work in Police, Fire, Corrections, Paramedics, or Parole and Probation, and those individuals that directly support those functions. Additionally, each team can have up to three “ringers” at a cost of $5.00 per ringer. A ringer is any individual that does not work for a public service agency.
The tournament is double elimination format, with a consolation bracket, and will be operated under ASA rules, to include the bats that are allowed for ASA tournaments. Six homeruns per game, with singles being allowed for homeruns, after the six homeruns are hit.
The cost is $165.00 per team, not including “ringer” fees. The deadline to enter your team is June 15.
