Icy bridges, bypasses and fog proved to be a dangerous recipe and sparked an assortment of nasty collisions today and during the weekend.
A dense fog advisory was in effect until 11 a.m. today for the lower Treasure Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Boise.
There was less than a quarter mile visibility near the Snake River around 8:51 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, and along Interstate 84 and U.S. Highway 20/26 through Ontario and Vale dense fog was reducing visibility to “near zero.”
“The combination of dense fog and icy conditions can be very dangerous. Use extreme caution this morning,” the National Weather Service stated on its Web site this morning.
Information was limited early this morning at about 7:30 am. while Oregon State Police troopers were still on the foggy scene of a single vehicle, non-injury crash on North Oregon Street.
Around 8:35 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to Boat Landing Road to a vehicle crash with possible injuries, which required extrication.
OSP officers were also dispatched to a rollover on Interstate 84 near the Stanton Boulevard exit around 9:25 a.m.
