Imbler pulls away from Harper-Huntington

The Imbler Panthers rattled off 22 unanswered points to push past Harper-Huntington, 28-6, Friday in the nonleague opener for both teams.
Imbler got on the board first with a 5-yard run by Mitch Myers. The Loconets answered with a 45-run from senior James Stacy to tie the game at 6-6 after the opening quarter. Myers added a 45-yard punt return and a 34-yard run and Nick Thompson scored from 3 yards out to cap the scoring for Imbler.
"I thought the kids played pretty well," Harper-Huntington head coach Mike Eddy said. "We didn't lack from enthusiasm, but we just made some mistakes that cost us."
Stacy led Harper-Huntington (0-1 overall) with 58 yards on the ground.
The Loconets travel to Adrian Friday for a nonleague matchup.

JORDAN VALLEY - It took the Adrian offense a little while to get going, but once the Antelopes did they had no trouble dispatching Jordan Valley.
The Antelopes scored 32 points in the final quarter, cruising past the Mustangs, 38-0, in the season opener for both teams
Chris Schumacher, Brett Buchholz, Kyle Dondro and Levi Jones all had fourth-quarter touchdown runs for Adrian (1-0 overall).
"For the first game it was okay," Adrian head coach Gene Mills said. "We saw some things we can build on and improve."
Jordan Valley (0-1) mustered just 76 yards of total offense on the night.
Adrian hosts Harper-Huntington Friday in nonleague play, while Jordan Valley has the week off.
